The Effect of Lavender Aroma Therapy And Musical Instruments on Pain Levels in Post-Surgical Patients

Abstract

Abstract : Postoperative pain is acute and requires immediate treatment. Pain after surgery is physiological, but it is one of the most common complaints from patients after surgery. This study aims to determine how much influence lavender aromatherapy and musical instruments have on pain levels in major postoperative patients. This research method uses a type of quantitative research with a Quasi Experiment design. The population in this study were major post-surgical patients who were treated at Aloei Saboe Hospital using the Accidental Sampling technique. With a sample of 36 respondents, 18 respondents in the control group and 18 respondents in the intervention group. Data analysis using the Mann-Whitney test. The results of this study indicate that there is a difference in effect of Lavender Aromatherapy and Musical Instruments on pain levels in post-surgical patients in the Aloei Saboe Hospital Working Area in the control group and intervention group with a significant value (p=0.000 <0.05) which means there is an Effect of Lavender Aromatherapy and Musical Instruments on Pain Levels in Post-Surgical Patients. Research is expected to be a reference reduce pain in post-surgical patients by providing Lavender Aromatherapy and Musical Instruments.
