Pengaruh Latihan Slow Deep Breathing Terhadap Penurunan Tekanan Darah Pada Pasien Hipertensi Di Uptd Puskesmas Patilanggio Kabupaten Pohuwato
Abstract

Hypertension or high blood pressure, is often referred to as "the silent killer", namely a silent killer because it often goes without complaints. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of slow deep breathing exercise on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients at the UPTD Patilaggio Community Health Center. This research used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest and posttest with control group design. The variables in this study consisted of the independent variable Slow Deep Breathing Exercise and the dependent variable reducing blood pressure in hypertension patients. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a population of 195 respondents, a sample of 66 respondents consisting of 33 respondents each from the intervention group and the control group. The instruments in this study used the Slow Deep Breathing Exercise SOP and blood pressure observation sheet as well as the Wilcoxon test for data analysis with a p- value of 0.000. There is an average difference between systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the intervention and control groups with a p value of 0.000. In conclusion, there is an effect of slow deep breathing exercise on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients at the UPTD Patilaggio Health Center, Pohuwato Regency. Therefore, it is hoped that this research will become a reference for the Patilaggio Community Health Center in increasing health promotion efforts and awareness regarding the importance of non-pharmacological therapy as a companion to pharmacological therapy and can maximize nursing services.
